2012 Octubafest Over!!!
We had a great turnout for our last Octubafest event of 2012. It’s always cool to the see the studio get fully involved and creative in their costume choices.
Tubby the Tuba Performance Scheduled
Just received word that I will be performing George Kleinsinger’s “Tubby the Tuba” with the Lufkin Community Band next semester! Looking forward to performing this timeless classic. Thanks to David Smith for the invite!
Studio Recital II was just as great as the first one. This one was extremely special because it was the first public solo performance for many of the incoming freshman students. Congratulations to all and especially the many staff and student accompanists that worked hard!
Octubafest 2012
The 7th Annual SFA Octubafest is in full swing! The first studio recital went great. I’m very proud of all of the awesome performances by the studio. The next recital will be on Monday – October 29th at 7:30pm in Cole Concert Hall.

ITEC 2012 – Linz, Austria
I had the pleasure of running into some Thai students from Mahidol University. They currently study with my former graduate student – Ajarn Boonchai. It’s great to see your grand-students!
ITEC 2012 Performance – Linz, Austria
Had an incredible time soloing in Linz, Austria with the UT-Pan American Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble. The venue was gorgeous as you can see, and the crowd was great and extremely enthusiastic about the performance. There were many locals and tourists in addition to those attending the 2012 International Tuba-Euphonium Conference in the audience which made for a great experience.
Special thanks to Dr. Scott Roeder, Assistant Professor of Tuba-Euphonium at UT-Pan American. As a Rio Grande Valley native, it makes me very proud to see valley students participating in the conference and presenting a very polished and musical performance!
Now to enjoy the rest of the conference this week!
Univ. of TX – Pan Am Rehearsal
Had a great rehearsal and run through today of “Celebration” by Soichi Konagaya in preparation for the 2012 International Tuba-Euphonium Conference in Linz, Austria. Bravo! to Dr. Scott Roeder for a great ensemble. Should be fun.
Solo Performance with the University of Texas-Pan American Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble – June 23
I’m very excited to perform with the University of Texas-Pan American Tuba & Euphonium Ensemble this June as part of the 2012 International Tuba-Euphonium Conference in Linz, Austria. I will be performing “Celebration” by Soichi Konagaya with the ensemble and I’m looking forward to the great venue! Thanks to Dr. Scott Roeder for the invite.
