BRASS DAY at SFA 2019!!

A day devoted to high school students of all ages who play a brass instrument including trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba who are interested in learning more about how to perform the prescribed audition etudes for all-region and all-state band for both TMEA and ATSSB.  There will also be information for prospective music majors about the School of Music and its audition requirements for acceptance.

1:00-2:00 PM All-region etudes clinic for ATSSB students (2A-4A) with SFA professors

Tuba – Dr. J.D. Salas

 

2:00-3:00 PM All-region etudes clinic for TMEA students (5A-6A) with SFA professors (as above)

3:00-3:45 PM – Informational Session about Stephen F. Austin State University

4:00 PM Performance by The Pineywoods Brass Quintet (free tickets available with pre-registration)

COSTS

All clinics including the SFA Faculty Brass Performance are FREE OF CHARGE!! The 4 p.m. concert is free with pre-registration before October 28th (below).  (Regular ticket prices are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $3 for students.)

2014 International Tuba-Euphonium Conference Solo Recital

I’m excitedly preparing for a solo appearance at the 2014 International Tuba-Euphonium Conference in Bloomington, IN.  The selected program for the recital will include:

The recital is scheduled for Saturday – May 24, 2014 at 8:45am in Ford Hall on the Indiana University Campus.
